The Media and its' detective-like nose for information, has contacted my office today, in hopes of obtaining a comment on “the apparent suicide attempt of Artie Lange”.   Their interest was in the July 2009 appearance of John “Re-Surch” McGhee at The Hard Rock Vegas, where he opened for Artie performing the self-titled song “What’s the name, Artie Lange”.  An anthem composed by Re-Surch which is included on the Jan 17, 2010 DVD release of Artie Lange’s “Jack and Coke”.

Dandridge Entertainment and Re-Surch have one simple statement; “Our hearts go out to Artie Lange and his loved ones.  There’s a lot of pain that must be hidden if a person decides to take such extreme actions.  He is in our prayers and we look toward his speedy recovery.”

The release is finally here!  Artie Lange's "Jack & Coke" Featuring original music produced by Re-Surch.  If you don't know already, Re-Surch is a a former intern for the Howard Stern show and a featured co-host for Howard Sterns "The Intern Show".  He also wrote and produced original music for "Show in the Hallway" which is featured on HowardTV ONDemand.

The song "The Howard Stern Show" was originally aired on Sirius's Howard 100.  Re-Surch or John as he is known by the Howard Stern staff, wrote this song his second week as an Intern for the show.  The week prior, he was interviewed on-air by Howard because of rumors of a 5-7 Inch stab-wound on Re-Surch's abdomen.

IT'S "BLACK ON BLACK" AT SIRIUS HOWARD101

Howard 100/101’s “The Intern Show” with Moderator, Steve, sits with John/Re-Surch and talks about being the “Second” Black-Intern on the show and catches him off guard with a surprise call from the "First” Black-Intern on the Howard Stern Show"; former Black-Intern Chris. 

Chris seemed less than happy with his experience as a Stern Intern.  From August to December 2007, this one-semester intern experienced incidents such as a fight with a sales staff-member over “Obnoxious Cupcake Use”; I don’t know what that means?!  And, he calls-out his sister, who’s among the staff at Howard 100, named Robin; “not sure of her last name”.  Chris says, “She showed no love to a brotha, she never even thanked me for being her intern”.  He said, that on his last day there, “I seen her walking out of the bathroom and she just gave me a wave goodbye.”

Chris goes on, but does offer some advice to John.  First he says “Don’t F*** it up for the next Black-Intern.”, then gracefully and graciously says, “Don’t live up to any stereo-types, be punctual, don’t get angry and to play it cool and do your thing.  You’re up there talkin to Stern, so you’re on the road to the riches already.”   But Chris then goes on to say that the Howard Stern show, “has something of an, NBA POLICY” and said that it stood for “No Brothas Allowed”.  It got a few giggles in the room but there was no discernable reaction from John.  Later I spoke to John and he simply said that, “It’s not about color; it’s about how you treat others, because that’s how they’re going to treat you”.

"Re-Surch" has a growing fan-base of college-students, while "John", (same person if you aren’t taking notes) is pursuing his formal education at the New England Institute of Art, where he's an Audio Major. But during the interview, he also proclaims his involvement in the "Van Wilder Program".  This is a reference to the 2002 National Lampoon's Hit by the same name "Van Wilder” with Ryan Reynolds. It was the life of an exceptionally popular college student who had everything at his campus “wired” and in his “control”.  John says he likes having fun and that he is actively searching for a golf-cart to make life easier on campus, especially when he mentioned that he started drinking at 1PM on the Super bowl and says, “Events are still questionable".  He did later admit that he wouldn’t “drive will drinking it”;?.

His music makes it loud and clear with Titles such as "The College Kid Guidebook" and "Alcoholic College Kidz".  My favorite, "Loco", which is also premiering his first music video Directed by the acclaimed Bill Parker.  If you don't know, Bill Parker also directed videos for Ziggy Marley, Stevie Wonder and Tupac (http://www.billparker.tv/iWeb/www.billparker.tv/Home.html).  (The Loco video, along with others, can be seen on his www.myspace.com/resurch  Yes, John “Re-Surch” McGhee likes to party, but you can see his focus in how he handles his life; especially since he is one in a sea of self-produced Artists out there.

Johns 6’2”, with a boxers stature and looks good in his Affliction T, but in sitting with him, he’s a pretty laid-back guy as well, but when I saw a video of his performance opening for the “Ying Yang Twins”; I couldn’t believe my eyes.  There was this shirt-less dude with an 8-pack on-stage, who I thought was "50-Cent", then someone on my staff said he looks like "LL Cool J".  But to me he seemed like a whole different person than this relaxed and completely together young-man.  He is an amazing “Performer”.  As for Johns time on Howard 100/101; when asked he says, "I'm just trying to make an impact”, he also shared with me that if anyone could pull it off, Howard would be the Jewish Puffy.  And with everything Re-Surch has going on, like he says, “I’m taking the Sean Puffy Combs route”.  But admittedly he’s humbled, “The first time I talked to Howard, In my mind I took the shape of a Unicorn”.   Show-Moderator Steve says, “It’s a major accomplishment to have your music played on Howards show”. 

Later in my interview, John says that the song; which aired 2-4-09, will soon be on his MySpace for the Fans to download FREE.  He says he wrote it especially for Howard and that it simply came to him from the inspiration he gets from everyone at the Studio.  The song is simply entitled “The Howard Stern Show” and can be heard soon, at www.myspace.com/resurch

John finally says he's constantly writing in a mangled notebook which never leaves his side and as he put it, “I walk my path and make notes of all that is special to me.  Not bad for a Kid from Dorchester Mass”.

SANTA MONICA, CA – John "Re-Surch" McGhee, the Alcoholic College Kid himself, has started a movement nation-wide called the "Alcoholic College Kidz."  This encompasses a large group of today's youth who are transitioning and growing up as wide-eyed “twenty-something’s” at University.

John "Re-Surch" McGhee was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the biggest and best known college cities in the country.   As an attending college student himself, Re-Surch was familiar with every aspect of the college scene while Majoring in Audio Production. 

At the same time he developed an absolute Love for “Samuel Adams Boston Lager”®.
